Incident Summary

On February 28, 2005 Alaska Chadux was activated to respond to a 200-250 gallon diesel spill from a fuel truck. Chadux sent a project supervisor and 3 Anchorage contract personnel to Dillingham to respond to the incident. Chadux recovered diesel that had been frozen into the ice, separated the fuel and ice using heaters, and properly disposed of the diesel and melt water.

F/V Cleo Response

Incident Summary

On July 4, 2005, Chadux was activated to potentially respond to the F/V Cleo, an 87 foot salmon tender that was burning off of the Copper River delta. Chadux’s management team activated to assess the incident, identify resources in the region, and arrange contracts with the vessel owner.

Location: Kodiak Island, Alaska

Incident Summary

On November 12, 2005, Chadux was contacted by the USCG Marine Safety Detachment in Kodiak about a 56 foot landing craft that had sunk in Izhut Bay off of Afognak Island. Chadux was activated under the Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) and contracted two vessels to assist with on-water recovery of floating product and oil drums. While no floating product was encountered, 31 drums of diesel and a 300 gallon tank of diesel were recovered. Chadux demobilized vessels and personnel on November 14.
