On April 12, 2008 Alaska Chadux responded to a 4000 gallon diesel release to ground at the Shishmaref tank farm.The response occurred under the term contract with the State of Alaska and Chadux provided an operations supervisor and a team lead along with spill response equipment.Local response personnel were trained and then employed to remove and stockpile contaminated snow.Over 13 days, approximately 1,000 gallons of diesel were recovered and 127 cubic yards of contaminated snow were stockpiled.Nearly 40 bags of oily solid waste were burned in a Smart Ash incinerator.
